The Craft by PTW

In 2017, we launched this initiative basically because #publishingsowhite. We realized that we wanted to be a part of creating space for Black writers and writers of color. Our work includes a mentorship program, blog, in-person and online community, and much more.

It’s run by me, Ashley M. Coleman. I’m an author and freelance writer that has published on GRAMMY.com, Zora, The Cut, and more.

What to Expect?

This is a weekly newsletter where you will receive information on the craft. We’ll focus on some areas of writing from journalism to fiction writing and everything in between. We’ll even invite some guest writers from time to time. We’re also curating a list of writing opportunities from all over the interwebs for you to take advantage of.

Our community

This is a safe space for Black writers and writers of color. Writing is a solo sport and we realized that we need each other. We’re better together!

If you need more information or have questions, you can feel free to email us at hello@permissiontowrite.com or visit our website.
